STAGE 1: WATER ACCLIMATION
   
STAGE 4: SWIM STROKE INTRODUCTION 
This class introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment. Exploration encourages participants to learn and enjoy the water.

  Students learn to develop comfort with underwater exploration and safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage lays the foundation that allows for a student’s future progress in swimming.   Students learn to develop stroke technique for front and back crawl and breaststroke and butterfly kicks. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke.

STAGE 2: WATER MOVEMENT
   
STAGE 5: SWIM STROKE DEVELOPMENT


 

 

 

  Students will focus on body position and control, directional change and forward movement and will continue to practice how to safely exit in the event of falling into a body of water.  

Students will practice stroke technique and learn all major competitive strokes. The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke.

STAGE 3: WATER STAMINA
   
STAGE 6: SWIM STROKE MECHANICS  

This class teaches parents to work with their children to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills.

  Students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.

  Students will refine stroke technique for all major competitive strokes, learn about competitive swimming and discover how to incorporate swimming into a healthy lifestyle.

SWIM BASICS AND SWIM STROKES PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ASSIGNED A STAGE BY THE INSTRUCTOR ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS TO ENSURE ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE IN THE APPROPRIATE LESSON
